Create treatments that answer one question
Start with a standard substrate and irrigation treatment, a new substrate treatment under the same irrigation, and a new substrate treatment with a moderate irrigation adjustment. Keeping the comparison simple makes the results easier to interpret.
Measure the complete growing response
Record irrigation volume, drainage, substrate moisture, EC, pH, plant quality and root development. Use the same measurement method and timing for every treatment and include enough plants to identify normal variation.
Scale in controlled steps
Review crop quality and operational effects before expanding the trial. A successful result should translate into clear settings for mixing, filling, irrigation, nutrition and handling under the nursery's own conditions.
